How long has it been since you decluttered your closet? How many pairs of shoes do you own? How many do you need, seeing that you can just wear 1 pair at any given time? How many pieces of attire do you no longer wear? What is in all those boxes on the top rack?
It will in truth take less time then you may think. Set aside a some time when you are in the ideal mindset to tackle the job. Before you commence cleaning it out, take a look at it to see what style of organizers you need. Could you use more hangers, a shoe organizer, a few clear zipper bags to pack out of season clothing?
Start by emptying out the closet. As you pull out attire arrange them in one of 4 bundles. Out of season clothes, items to keep, things to discard, and items to donate. Do the same with the shoes.
When the closet is bare, vacuum it, and wipe off all shelves and drawers. Put all the out of season apparel in plastic bags or boxes and put them on the bottom shelves.
Now put in the closet organizers and shoe rack making the best use of the area. Begin putting back all the clothing and shoes you are keeping. Put the worn-out apparel in a trash bag and the items to give away in a box.
Next time you are out doing errands, unload the box of attire at the donation center. You won't believe how great you will feel once that closet is decluttered.
