In simple way we can say that an Affiliate Marketer should send visitor as many as possible to the merchant/online store. When visitors buy or doing some transaction in the merchant website, the merchant will know that the visitors come from you and you'll get commission from it. Well, how does the merchant knows that the visitors comes from you?
When the visitors come to your Affiliate website and then click a link that bring them to the merchant website, at the same time there's a process happen behind the screen. A cookie, it's technically, it's just a little file which put in the buyers computer when they click on the merchant website link. This cookie will tell the merchant from which affiliate the visitors come from, so the merchant will not be mistaken giving the commission to other affiliate marketer.
Yes, that's what exactly what Affiliate Marketing is. Simple isn't it? Yes, it's very simple. But is it really that easy? Not always, just like any other business, you have to work hard to success. It's a business not a lottery.
